French developer SLI Interactive and publisher Maximum Games released a new trailer for Street Power Football, also known as Street Power Soccer in North America. The trailer focuses on the game’s special power-ups and the option to manipulate the ball and the field using the different characters’ abilities.
The trailer isn’t much for length, but we do see the game readily in action as the footballers do their duty on the makeshift pitches scattered throughout the urban jungles.
You can check out the trailer for the game below.
Visually the game reminds me a lot of the Saber Interactive sports titles like NBA Playground.
I can’t say in any way that I’m impressed; I’m not. However, the presentation suits the family-friendly style they’re going for, and for the most part I don’t see any or have been informed of any degeneracy being present in Street Power Football, so I suppose it’s safe in my book.
As for the trailer itself, it showcases how you can use the different super-powers to pull off trick shots and ball control in order to score points and one-up your opponents.
These abilities are made available through power-ups that appear randomly on the pitch, much like in the Super Mario sports titles.
It doesn’t look like a bad game but it also doesn’t look like a great game either.
In any case, you’ll have access to air jumps, worm holes, shields, and other explosive consumable power-ups to make use of on the football field.
The game is due to drop on August 25th for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and on Steam for PC. The game will be available both digitally and as a physical release at local retailers. For more information feel free to visit the official website.
