CrossFireX Campaign Trailer Takes Cues From Crysis, Battlefield, And Call Of Duty

Publishers Xbox Game Studios and Tencent and developers Smilegate and Remedy Entertainment will ship CrossFireX sometime this year. Although the 2020 FPS game will have a bustling multiplayer mode, the game will also debut with a story mode that takes cues from Crysis, Battlefield, and Call of Duty.

Boasting a superpower suit known as a “weapon” that can turn its wearer invisible, as well as slow-motion QTE scenes, Smilegate has wrapped all of this together with explosive moments to create the very foundation of CrossFireX’s campaign. In other words, if you fancy going invisible and stalking enemies, blowing things up in slow motion, and progressing through over-the-top scripted events, then CrossFireX might be for you.

Moreover, the following trailer outlines that Louis Torres must get to a top-secret weapon that is the “power suit,” which is fueling a sprawling global conflict that rages between the “Global Risk” and “Black List Mercenary” factions. In simple terms, the former faction fears the latter group possessing the suit’s power. Also, there’s a bunch of talk about fate and destiny, which will likely play into the campaign’s narrative:

“A sprawling global conflict rages between the Global Risk and Black List mercenary factions in an immersive and cinematic single player experience from Smilegate Entertainment and Remedy. Where will the fight take you?”

And you’ve heard right. “X Gon Give It To Ya” is the game’s theme song so far. This is the second time the song has been associated with CrossFireX, with the first being in the multiplayer reveal trailer in 2019.

With that said, the multiplayer mode may take cues from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and looks nothing like Call of Duty or Battlefield, but the single-player mode definitely looks like said first-person shooters.

Lastly, the OG game released back on PC in 2007 as CrossFire, and now, CrossFireX is going to be available soon for those that enjoy playing on the family of Xbox consoles such as the Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
