Baldur’s Gate 3 To Release For PC Via Steam Early Access On September 30th, 2020

Larian Studios is looking to release Baldur’s Gate 3 at the end of this year’s September. Although the game will release in an early access state via Steam, PC goers will be able to play the forthcoming RPG next month.

Larian Studios’ executive producer, David Walgrave, noted back on March 1st of this year that Baldur’s Gate 3 will release on PC first and might not land on current-gen consoles due to engine and technical upgrades. Walgrave also claimed that the upcoming RPG is a next-gen title and that PCs and Google Stadia are the only two that can properly run it as of now.

Although chances of bad optimization or spaghetti code could be at play, Walgrave says that the team at Larian Studios is focused on shipping the game out for PC goers.

With that said, in a new Panel From Hell live-stream, the team at Larian Studios discussed various things with Geoff Keighley about Baldur’s Gate 3. Accompanying said live-stream are the following videos thanks to YouTuber GamersPrey:

“Abducted, infected, lost. You are turning into a monster, but as the corruption inside you grows, so does your power. That power may help you to survive, but there will be a price to pay, and more than any ability, the bonds of trust that you build within your party could be your greatest strength. Caught in a conflict between devils, deities, and sinister otherworldly forces, you will determine the fate of the Forgotten Realms together.”

Moreover, the live-stream also revealed that in the early access version of the game, the level cap is four (as of this writing). Additionally, players will start in Avernus and must escape where content after that in this early build is said to be almost triple that of Divinity: Original Sin 2’s first act.

Anyway, the game will launch on PC via Steam and Google’s Stadia on September 30th, 2020.
