Astroneer Scheduled To Launch On PS4 November 15th

System Era Softworks announced that their space-faring, survival-adventure game, Astroneer, will be making its debut on the PlayStation 4 this fall starting November 15th.

The PS4 version will launch after the next big update drops on PC and Xbox One starting September 4th called the Explorer Update.

The announcement for the PlayStation version of the game arrived with a short minute long trailer, playfully showcasing one of the astronauts goofing around with a DualShock on a desert planet before a montage kicks in showing off the various gameplay elements and play mechanics.

You can check it out below.

The core of the game is about setting up a base on a planet, making sure you have enough oxygen to survive, building a ship so you can explore other planets, and teaming up with other players along the way thanks to the online co-op mode.

In addition to the standard gameplay mechanics that you’ve been introduced to since the game launched on PC way back in 2017, there’s also the addition of PS4 exclusive content such as a dashboard theme featuring music from the official soundtrack, and an exclusive in-game suit and visor. The dynamic theme is available for those who pre-order the game.

As for the Explorer Update, this includes the new jetpack and jump-jet utilities, as well as new items for you to use and platforms to build. An in-game camera also allows for easy sharing and screenshot and movie captures.

PS4 owners will gain access to all the previous updates available for Astroneer along with the Explorer Update that’s arriving on the other platforms this September.

You can look for Astroneer to be made available courtesy of Gearbox Software Publishing starting November 15th. However, if you’re not keen or fond of the way Gearbox has been handling their business as of late, you can always stick with the PC version of the game, which is currently available over on the Steam store for just $29.99.
