Star Wars Battlefront 2 Beta Set For Oct. 4th, Ground To Space Still For Campaign

Star Wars Battlefront 2 by EA and DICE will have a playable beta that will go live on October 6th. If you have early access enabled on your part you will be able to start playing on October 4th. The Beta will be available across PC, PS4 and Xbox One until October 9th.

First, there seems to be a bit of confusion about Star Wars Battlefront 2 having ground to space battles in multiplayer. For the record, and as of now, there’s no word or plan on ground to space battles coming to multiplayer according to Star Wars HQ who learned from an interview that metro.uk.co posted, which  reads:

“GC: Okay, can you can take off from a planet and go into space, like the old Battlefront III was going to do?

MW: In the campaign you can. There are moments within the campaign where you go from the ground to spaceflight.”

So as of now, I wouldn’t hold my breath for the beta or future DLC to contain ground to space battles. According to most fans they expect that to be a feature in Star Wars Battlefront 3, but who knows, the feature could turn up in 2018?

Looking over to the early beta, it will go live in the next two days for those who have early access. The beta will debut in the next four days for everyone to participate in when the open beta goes live. Both sessions will features multi-stage Galactic Assault, Arcade Mode, Starfighter Assault, and Strike Missions.

The beta for early access users will begin on October 4th at 8:00 A.M. UTC, while the open version of the beta will go out to all players on October 6th at 8:00 A.M. UTC. The beta itself will end on October 9th at 4:00 P.M. UTC.

More information about the beta for Star Wars Battlefront 2 can be found over on ea.com, which holds additional information about PC specs to run it near the middle part of the page.
