Looking to start your own computer company during the 1970’s and onward? If so, a new indie game that is set to debut for PC on October 12th is a sim tycoon about the evolution of PCs and the software and hardware from yesteryears that helped shape a future for today.
Discovering the early days of PCs, video games, other software and hardware that would change in the decades to follow comes Computer Tycoon. The game is all about resource management and taking technology to the next level nationwide… and eventually globally.
The idea behind this game is about creating a mega corporation that stands the test of times starting from the 1970’s all the way to 2034, although I don’t understand why the date 2034 is the end, but you have 64 years to build an influential company that is the best of the best.
The official description explaining Computer Tycoon lies right here:
“Computer Tycoon is an indie business strategy game about Computer Evolution. Start your company in the 70s. Invent until 2034, create the best hardware and operating system, upgrade your infrastructure and handle your marketing! Promote games, rule the global market and become an immortal!”
Containing some 3D assets, Computer Tycoon mostly surrounds the use of graphs and queries seeking resolution through choices and how you respond to customers. The latest Early Access trailer that arrives ahead of its release shows the above and can be seen below thanks to IndieAndras.
As time changes you will notice that your tactics will have to change too. This means that you will need to balance your budget well between development, production, marketing, and expansion. Additionally, stuff like your products needing more computing capacity or more features will be a thing, which is joined by entry prices, prestige, portability, and operating systems.
Computer Tycoon is set to release this month on October 12th, and will release only for PC via Steam Early Access. More information on this game can be found over on computertycoon.com.
