Bandai Namco has revealed the official Digimon Survive teaser trailer, showing artwork, gameplay and more. Digimon Survive is part of the 20th-anniversary celebration of the Digimon anime, presenting a brand-new adventure set in a “mysterious world.”
The 2019 game will feature new characters designed by Uichi Ukumo, and music by Tomoki Miyoshi. According to the official memo, Survive sees a new cast of kids, led by Takuma Momozuka, get lost on a school camping trip into a world of “monsters and danger.”
I have no idea if this is fluff or an actual feature to be implemented in the game, but as players fight their way back home through an animated world of “difficult decisions” and “deadly battles,” your choices throughout the game will supposedly impact the evolution of monster allies and the final ending.
Anyway, you can gather info on what Digimon Survive has to offer by either reading the official description or watching the newly dropped teaser trailer:
“Decisions will have to be made in order to continue on in this strange and nostalgic world. What choices will you have to make in Digimon Survive in 2019?”
Right now, the bad news is that Digimon Survive has no solid release date. Yes, it’s coming out in 2019, but we don’t have a specific release date on hand. The good news, though, is that Bandai Namco released that Survive will make its debut on PC via Steam, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.
Speaking of platforms, the Japanese version of the game will not come to PC or Xbox One. Instead, it will release on PS4 and Switch.
Finally, I’m sure Bandai Namco will follow up on this teaser sometime in the future with a gameplay trailer showing an extensive look at Survive. In the meantime, it looks like we’ll have to wait and see how this title pans out.
