Ground Branch is an upcoming tactical shooter that features “in-depth” character and weapon customization and “true first-person” awareness. If that sounds like something you can get behind, the original Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon devs working on Ground Branch will have full mod support to boot at launch.
Ground Branch is shaping up to release on August 7th, 2018, which means it’s only days away from its Early Access debut. Ahead of its PC launch next week, the devs have released a slew of information on the tactical FPS game’s Steam page, highlighting that full mod support will be a thing.
“From one of the developers behind the original Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon games, comes a thinking-man’s first-person shooter featuring in-depth character and weapon customization. Take your time. Think ahead. Get the job done.”
In other words, if you want to immerse yourself in the game’s original vision you can if you want to, or you can take advantage of its upcoming mod support to make it the game you want it to be.
There’s no telling how active gamers and the community of Ground Branch will be at launch and beyond. However, it seems that the devs are trying to fine tune the game to be the best at launch with a lot of test/server updates before the game becomes publicly available.
Time will surely tell how this FPS game will pan out and how well gamers will take to it, but if you want to see actual in-game footage of PvP and co-op missions at play, two videos are up for your viewing pleasure.
The two WIP (work in progress) videos come in by YouTuber Spooky and JezaGooner — with the former flaunting PvP gameplay and the latter showing co-op action.
