Sega Genesis Classics To Hit PC, PS4 And Xbox One On May 29th

If you want to play classic Sega Genesis games on the most recent consoles like PS4 and Xbox One or if you want to play them on PC, Sega has announced that there’s a Genesis bundle that will drop on May 29th.

Sega has revealed the date for its Sega Genesis Classics or Sega Mega Drive Classics for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The classic lineup of games will debut worldwide on May 29th, according to the company.

The bundle of titles comes with over 50 Sega Genesis games. Genres range from arcade action, shoot’em ups, beat’em ups, puzzlers, and much more.

It is worth noting that Sega has modernized some of these titles to include features like online multiplayer, achievements, save states, and other quality of life options that you’d likely find on a PC emulator for the Sega Genesis.

Sega has not released the official list of titles included in the collection, but if you want to see what games are set to be available in the upcoming bundle you can check out the new trailer right here.

The comment section sees a lot of people wanting a Switch version of this very classic bundle of games. If you happen to be a part of said group looking to snag some Sega games come May 29th for Switch, you’ll have to wait and see what Sega cooks up for you from here on out.

Personally, it’d be nice to see Sega revisit and make some of these classic titles in 3D or with better 2D sprites and release them for newer consoles and PC. There’s a list of titles that I would love to see made with today’s tech, however back on May 15th, 2017 Sega did say that it wanted to revisit and create new IPs for modern devices.

Lastly, will you support this initiative by Sega or will you pass?
