Maximum Games and GameMill Entertainment announced that Deer Hunter: Reloaded is currently available right now for download from digital distributors and from participating retailers for $19.99 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The game is designed to help guide players in the ways of hunting wildlife, all in an attempt to become a master hunter.
You’ll be able to hunt a wide variety of game in the game that stretches from mule and Sitka deer, to bighorn and Dall sheep, caribou from the great north, forest elk, and even white-tailed deer. Players will journey around North America to find the best spots to down nature’s quadruped minions, including maps that will take you from Texas to Alaska.
You can see what the actual gameplay is like with the launch trailer below.
I had no idea hunting animals could be such a dude-bro activity. Halfway through I was nearly expecting the player to jump off a mound, spin around, and perform a 360 no-scope headshot on an elk.
The trailer takes the prestige and pageantry out of hunting and instead focuses on “fast paced gameplay” and a plethora of different weapons you can use in a “dynamic” environment where bears can run out of the woods and attack you like a stalker in a dark alleyway, or a pack of wolves can turn your badass hunting spree into a fight for survival.
Graphically the game looks like it came out of the late PS2 era. I’m not really sure what happened there but I suppose being a budget-priced title would render those kind of results.
One thing that kind of disturbs me is how it looks like the hunter’s right hand is holding the stock at the end of the rifles even though the right hand should be the hand with the finger on the trigger.
Seems like it would be awfully inconvenient to pump a shotgun that way.
Also, the whole bullet-time zoom-in on the animals getting shot in their vital areas? I have no idea what to think of that. It’s a borrowed feature from the Sniper Elite series, but instead of using the X-Ray to see Nazis die in spectacularly bloody fashion, you’re using it to see animals get shot and killed in spectacular fashion.
Anyway, Deer Hunter: Reloaded is available right now for $19.99 for home consoles and PC.
