CD Projekt Red Shows Off 48-Minutes Of Cyberpunk 2077 Gameplay

Folks who weren’t apart of the press or a journalist that attended E3 2018 or Gamescom 2018 missed out on CD Projekt Red’s showing of Cyberpunk 2077. Well, the day has come in that CDPR has unveiled a new Cyberpunk 2077 video showing 48-minutes of in-game footage. The upcoming first-person RPG will release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

A lot of minds have been wondering what Cyberpunk 2077 has to offer gameplay wise given that the title has been making headlines ever since its E3 showing. Well, the wait is finally over in that the devs have live-streamed a 48-minute sample of the game to the public via Twitch. Additionally, CDPR sent out a letter explaining the following footage is subject to change:

“Watch 48 minutes of official 2018 gameplay from Cyberpunk 2077 and get a glimpse into the world of perils and possibilities that is Night City — the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future.

This video contains work-in-progress gameplay — everything you see is potentially subject to change.”

Firstly, there will be no level scaling according to past reports. There are three main classes (Netrunner, Techie, and Solo) with sub-classes like Rockerboy and Corporate in the mix that you can explore as you go through the game. Full character creation is in the game. There are different body types that you can pick from, which includes different hair, makeup, and life path (which affects your choices and decisions in the future).

Your character, who can either be male or female, goes by the name V and is fully voiced. There are six unique districts in the city, in which buildings are enterable with plenty of vertical exploration.

There are three types of weapons: Power Weapons (heavy hitters), Tech Weapons (able to penetrate through cover), and Smart Weapons (shoots tracking projectiles). Additionally, there are four different damage types: Physical, Thermal, EMP, and Chemical.

The game is set in first-person to “help with immersion” and “story-telling,” but at its heart Cyberpunk 2077 is an RPG. Moreover, there are bikes and cars that you can drive in. The developers also mentioned that they don’t want players to rely too much on vehicles, so they wanted to create ways to traverse the city without being entirely dependent on transportation.
