Ace Combat fans looking to jump back into the skies and take out other pilots and swiftly obliterate ground targets will be able to do so next year when Bandai Namco drops Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. Although the game is like five months out, you can check out recently posted videos showing off gameplay and landing footage right now.
If you have no idea what Ace Combat 7 has to offer, according to a memo that Brand Director Kazutoki Kono sent out at this year’s Gamescom, we learn that players will find themselves part of the “Penitentiary Unit.” This unit is a military force formed entirely of criminals who have been tasked with defending against a “new threat.”
Set on the Usean continent, the forthcoming game will bring the “signature enthralling story” and “explosive aerial combat action” front and center. Additionally, the team behind the game has been working diligently to produce an experience that will add yet another “action-packed chapter to the ACE COMBAT franchise,” but more importantly, the team wants to ship a title that will be “worthy of your time.”
Sounds like something you can get behind? Well, YouTuber 박웅 (Park) has a video up of Gamescom 2018 footage showing various actions that can be performed in-game.
Released today comes yet another video from the same YouTuber, who shows off the action of lining-up the jet plane to the landing strip to land, refuel and rearm after a long hard battle. The video was live streamed on NicoNico hence the off-screen capture.
I hope a public demo is in the works so that folks who are eagerly awaiting this game’s launch will have something to supplement them until its release.
Speaking of its release, if you want to play Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, the game is due out on January 18th, 2019, for PS4 and Xbox One and on February 1st, 2019, for PC via Steam.
