Dolmen, Deadspace-Inspired Survival Game Seeks Funds on Kickstarter

Massive Work Studio announced that their crowdfunding campaign for the SoulsBorne-inspired action-RPG, Dolmen, is currently underway over on the Kickstarter page.

They’re not just asking for money, though. The developers also come bearing gifts in the form of a demo, which seems to be a rarity these days. The demo, however, is limited only to those who back the game at the $10 pledge. So you can get a taste of what the game has to offer for $10. Alternatively you could hop on YouTube or Twitch and see if your favorite streamer or Let’s Play content creator has some videos up of the game before you decide to put any money into the coffers of the Brazilian outfit, Massive Work Studio.

The game is billed as a cosmic horror title, where players will attempt to survive on a planet known as Revion Prime. Players will have to scavenge for material, craft melee and projectile-based weapons, and attempt to find a way off the very hostile planet, filled with various types of monstrous horrors. You can check out the promo video for Dolmen below.

Much like Dead Space the game allows players over-the-shoulder action with projectile-based combat. Unlike Dead Space, however, there is also melee present. This is what makes Dolmen very similar to Bloodborne, as players will mix and match their combat mechanics in order to overcome some of the enemies in the game, which range from humanoid creatures to large, multi-pedal Lovecraftian horrors.

The team is currently looking for $90,000 to finish the game and also get it up and out for release by next year for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. If they’re able to hit the stretch goals they’re hoping to make a version for the Nintendo Switch.

The studio demonstrated the game at this year’s PAX East event at the Boston Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts. If you’re curious about learning more about Dolmen, you can do so by visiting the official Kickstarter page.
