Katamari Damacy Reroll For Nintendo Switch Sports HD Rumble, Split-Screen Play

Bandai Namco and Nintendo announced that the original Katamari Damacy is coming to the Nintendo Switch. The game features all the standard content from the original game but in HD and with a few additional Nintendo Switch exclusive features.

For instance, the rolling can now be controlled using the twin Joy-Con gyroscopic feature, so that as you tilt and yaw the Joy-Con controllers, you’ll also tilt and yaw the giant rolling pile of junk that the poor little Prince must roll up into a ball and send into outer space.

There’s also the addition of HD rumble effects as you roll things up and roll into other things. I’m not sure what the benefit is of the HD rumble for a game like Katamari Damacy Reroll… but hey, it’s there if you want to feel the vibration.

The trailer for the game is just under a minute long, but it does a quick and spiffy job of rolling out the details.

As showcased in the trailer above, you’ll be able to complete the entire single-player campaign all by your lonesome, or if you’re really feeling cheeky you can bring a buddy along and the two of you can frolic in the fun-pen of fondling rubbish for a roll. In other words, Katamari Damacy Reroll sports a two-player split-screen option so you can play cooperatively with other players.

As noted in the teaser trailer, you can look for Bandai’s off-kilter puzzle game to launch for the Nintendo Switch this upcoming winter. That’s not a bad game to have on your shelf if you really wanted something unique to help give your Nintendo Switch some rum-rolling action to indulge in during Christmas.

There wasn’t much else on display for the trailer nor a price, but those details are likely coming soon… well, they better be coming soon if it’s launching this winter.
