Marvel released the second full trailer for Ant-Man & The Wasp, which is due out on July 7th this summer. The trailer attempts to roll out the actual plot for the film, as well as give viewers a heavy dose of comedic, physics-Defying action sequences.
The two and a half minute trailer starts with Ant-Man talking to a little girl where she tells him he needs a partner. Interspersed between the heart-to-heart moment we see Ant-Man using a flatbed truck like a skateboard.
The oversized hero then speeds down the street and proceeds to kick over the SUV that the bad guys are driving.
The rest of the trailer then moves on to the actual plot of the film, which is about a chick in a suit that looks like it comes out of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier who appears to want to steal Hank Pym’s technology. It’s up to Ant-Man and the Wasp to stop her. You can check out the trailer below courtesy of Movieclips Trailers.
We see Ant-Man getting beat up by a woman, while the trailer continually depicts the Wasp as the more competent and combat-ready expert of the two. In fact, the Wasp manages to beat up several fully sized, grown men, even though Ant-Man can’t even beat a woman.
It’s pretty obvious what sort of agenda Marvel is pushing with Ant-Man and the Wasp, similar to their other recent films like Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther.
The duo have to stop the chick in the white costume that looks like she escaped from a generic third-person shooter from Ubisoft.
Funnily enough it looks as if they stole the powers from the Twins from The Matrix: Reloaded, where she can immaterialize between solid objects.
I’m guessing this is the sort of film to get Marvel back into the rote filmmaking pattern of making formulaic movies laced with a lot of comedy, goofy action sequences, and by-the-book plots after doing something different with Avengers: Infinity War.
You can look for Ant-Man & The Wasp to hit theaters this July.
