Assetto Corsa Competizione Update Adds Circuit Zolder, Emil Frey Jaguar G3

Kunos Simulazioni recently updated Assetto Corsa Competizione, the sequel to the original Assetto Corsa, which came out way back in 2014. The recent update adds the all new Emil Frey Jaguar G3 and the Circuit Zolder race track to the current Early Access build of the highly realistic racing simulator.

The update for version 0.5 went live a couple of days ago, but they’ve been issuing hotfixes for the update recently to address a few issues with the bugs.

There were apparently some issues with the Jaguar’s collision detection, mostly to do with the soft-collisions, as well as some issues with the wrong sound playing during the UI selection for the Zolder track, and a few camera bugs for the chase cam and camera pitch.

You can see what the new track and vehicle looks like with the promo trailer below.

The new circuit and German vehicle didn’t arrive alone. Kunos also added in some brand new special events for players to partake in, as well as worldwide challenges, new online leaderboard updates, and the opportunity to join in on the “Competizione”.

The next major updates for the game – once the team manages to stabilize the code and get everything running smoothly – is to include an all new spectator mode for the multiplayer, so this way you can enjoy multiplayer e-sports events, along with the new multiplayer voting system.

Several other features are also planned for release leading up to version 1.0.

Now according to the Steam Early Access page they have plans on getting version 1.0 up and completed by February, 2019 next month. However, it seems unlikely that they’ll be able to make it in time with just a couple of weeks to go. I would imagine that since they just recently hit version 0.5 we won’t expect to see version 1.0 until sometime in the spring.

Either way you can keep track of Assetto Corsa Competizioni’s progress by visiting the Steam store page.
