NIS America will publish indie developer Wazen’s stylized “action-anime” game Assault Spy. The game in question will hit PC via Steam Early Access come May 7th.
Do you enjoy stylized 3D anime-like fighting games? Indie developer Wazen might have you covered with Assault Spy. The game is set to bring a “new action experience” worldwide while featuring Japanese and English text and audio.
As for gameplay, acts like dashing, evading and smashing are just a fraction of what you can pull off in this comedy spy game. Dark secrets and hostile business takeovers play an important role in the game’s main story, which is further explained below:
“Dash, evade, and smash your way to the truth as the corporate spy, Asaru; or the reckless CIA agent, Amelia! Uncover the dark secrets of the Negabot mega corporation as you save the company from a hostile takeover. Assault Spy is a stylish, fast paced, pure-action game with a dash of comedy.”
According to Wazen, the story of Assault Spy sees Asaru Vito as a self-proclaimed elite company spy. However, since he always ends up paired with the clumsy Kanoko Yotsuba, most of his missions end up being total failures.
Asaru Vito’s performance later hits rock bottom, but when things couldn’t get any worse, he is picked to spy on the global mega-corporation, Negabot. If you want to see the playable characters, Asaru Vito and Amelia, the older announcement trailer sits below.
Additionally, special maneuvers like dodging bullets and finishing enemies with fancy combos are all part and parcel of the action romp present in Assault Spy.
Furthermore, “dynamic actions” can be obtained by defeating enemies, allowing you to pull off some cinematic feats. In other words, your move-set will expand upon defeating certain enemies and can be used to chain together combos with “stylish finishers.”
Lastly, the main story has two sides to it, with you playing as the professional and unfortunate spy Asaru or the reckless CIA agent Amelia, both of which offer different playstyles and story outcomes.
Assualt Spy is set to release on May 7th for PC on Steam Early Access.
