Black Desert Online Adds The Alluring Mystic Class Jan 3rd, 2018

Kakao Games and Pearl Abyss announced that Black Desert Online’s next major update will arrive on January 3rd, 2018. The update will arrive with an all new character class to play… the Mystic. It’s a class with an alluring design, and something that would make the feminists whine about online if they actually played video games.

The class focuses on being able to channel the force of the ocean into combat, and use it as a way to disrupt the flow of battle for enemies.

A while back, Kakao Games released a trailer for the Mystic to give gamers an idea of what to expect from the combat and how they could be played in the game. You can check out that trailer below.

The trailer depicts the Mystic as a sort of water-bender, not unlike from what was featured in Avatar.

Her attacks look really slick, as she mixes martial arts with short-range water projectiles that are unleashed in circular arcs, moving with the flow and movement of her arms and legs in true wushu fashion. I’m not entirely fond of the sound effects for the water attacks, since they comes across sounding like wooden blocks smacking up against rubber walls.

It’s easy to forget how gorgeous Black Desert Online is, especially given how so few other games out there seem to be pushing the boundaries when it comes to graphics. And keep in mind that Black Desert Online came out way back in 2014.

Her attacks will be channeled through her cestus, and she will be able to unleash devastating special maneuvers like the Spiral Tornado, Tidal Burst and Dragon’s Rip on single and multiple foes.

The character class will be made available once maintenance gets done on January 3rd.

Additionally, Kakao Games and Pearl Abyss have discounts going on right now for Black Desert Online, with up to 50% off on select cash shop packages. You can learn more by visiting the official website or by paying a visit to the Steam store page.
