Sleep Tight, Pixar-Inspired Shooter Set To Hit Nintendo Switch, PC July 26th

Former artists and designers who worked on Pixar projects like Big Hero 6 and Wreck-It Ralph, Ubisoft games like Far Cry 5 and Splinter Cell, and Hollywood productions like Westworld and Game of Thrones, have collaborated together to work on a tower-defense game about kids having to fend off their room from an army of scary night-time monsters.

The name of the game is called Sleep Tight and it’s from the start-up We Are Fuzzy composed of Hollywood and video game veterans. Maxx Burman, co-founder and creative director at We Are Fuzzy, commented in the press release that the game is about reviving the feels and bringing back the nostalgia that gaming has lost over the years, saying…

“While our team has been lucky to work on so many amazing properties over the course of our careers, it’s been amazing to create such a warm, pure, nostalgic experience, and we look forward to sharing it with everyone when we launch this July.”

The game seems to take some parts of Zombies Ate My Neighbors and fuses it with Dungeon Defenders and Monsters Inc. You can see the gameplay trailer below to see how the mechanics work in Sleep Tight.

The game sees players taking household appliances and furniture and rearranging them to create barricades and fortifications in order to keep the monsters from taking over you house.

You can modify and place the different barriers and turrets around the gameplay space to create your very own walled garden of ballistics and chaos.

Of course, strategically placing down defensive turrets is just one aspect of the gameplay in Sleep Tight, you’ll also have 12 different characters to choose from and a bevy of weapons to unlock and utilize in battle against the inauspicious interlopers.

You can look for the Unreal Engine 4-powered Sleep Tight to launch on July 26th for the Nintendo Switch and PC. You can also learn more about the project by visiting the official website.
