Two Point Hospital Dev Video Explains Their Vision For The Game

The developers at Two Point Studios released a new behind-the-scenes video for Two Point Hospital. The video explains how the game is a business management simulator, and that the theme of the game centers around tending to some odd patients and attempting to build a hospital that’s the best in Two Point County.

The general gameplay mechanics center around expanding your rooms, researching and building your tech, and attempting to use your new tech to help patients.

According to the developers, they came up with some wacky ailments and then attempted to build visualizations around those ailments, with matching tech to cure them.

Some of the solutions to the problems are rather… colorful. For instance, fixing the lightheadedness involves unscrewing the head of the patient and screwing a new head onto them.

The video doesn’t go too far in depth into the gameplay or customization. We briefly get to see the way the room building mechanics work, which isn’t too dissimilar from what you can do in games like The Sims. You basically take the mouse and drag out an area within the hospital where you want the room to be, and then proceed to decorate it or occupy it with the kind of equipment you need to help a certain kind of patient.

Obviously, the game is a spiritual successor to the likes of Theme Hospital, and gamers who enjoy that kind of gameplay will likely find themselves right at home with Two Point Hospital.

The game is due out later on in 2018 for PC. No release date has been set and we still don’t have any actual gameplay footage, so I’m suspecting this game will likely be coming later on in the second half of the year.

The art style is definitely themed after Nick Park’s Wallace and Gormit, which at least sets Two Point Hospital apart from a lot of other games on the market.
