Digital Cybercherries announced that one of the last few remaining masculine shooter games out there that’s unapologetically made for males has graduated from Early Access on Steam. You can currently pick up a digital copy of Hypercharge: Unboxed from the Steam store for just $19.99. The game is discounted by 25% off during the first week of release for only $14.99.
The story is pretty simple. Invaders want to destroy the Hyper-Core, and with it all of reality. You’ll have to join Sgt. Max Ammo and defend the Hyper-Core with up to three other friends in either split-screen offline co-op or online multiplayer co-op. You fight through large scale environments themed around play areas for toys, and use buidlables to setup traps, blockades, and turrets to destroy incoming enemies.
The game looks like a blast to play and it’s easily designed to tap into the Small Soldiers-style machismo that was present back before Leftists subverted mainstream culture. You can get a glimpse of what the gameplay is like with the launch trailer below.
I’m loving everything about this game. It looks like tower defense done right. The Army Men-style levels combined with the physics-based destruction, the plastic-gun models that seem like the come right out of a plastic Toys ‘R Us package for the latest action figure hero – it’s all perfect! I love it!
The added bonus of four-player co-op just makes it that much sweeter.
The game came out back in February on the Nintendo Switch, but if you wanted bigger explosions, better frame-rate, and gorgeous graphics to boot, you’ll probably want to get the game on PC.
The feedback has been almost nothing but positive so far, and it feels like such a lost tradition to praise a game for rekindling the fun and action of a male’s childhood. None of that drag culture nonsense, or LGBQTIA+ cartoon degeneracy – this is all about fun and getting lost in the over-the-top bombast of combat and camaraderie.
If you have a few buddies and you want to play a testosterone-laden first-person shooter featuring toys, definitely check out Hypercharge: Unboxed.
