Metalhead Software announced that Super Mega Baseball 3 will launch in April for the Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Steam. The highlight of the announcement is that the game will come with cross-play support across multiple platforms, enabling players from different consoles to play with other players on other platforms.
The full game will be available for $44.99, and it will retain the casual gameplay mechanics from the previous entries so just about anyone can pick up and play.
Super Mega Baseball 3 will feature multiple difficulty settings for different tiers of gamers, along with all new simulation mechanics such as pick-off and base stealing, along with the ability to utilize wild pitches and passed balls. For experts, designated hitters and employable player traits for situational circumstances will also make an appearance in the upcoming sports title.

You know what’s crazy? They managed to capture the hardcore metal vibe with their music selection that id Software and Bethesda completely forfeited with DOOM: Eternal.
Crazy.
As showcased in the trailer, you can customize your character(s), create your own league, or play through your very own custom season with made-up teams, logos, player names, and attributes. Super Mega Baseball 3 also allows you to play ball across a number of different fields with a day and night cycle, as well as participate in tournaments, elimination brackets, or participate in the cross-platform Pennant Race mode with multiple players from different platforms.
Metalhead co-founder Scott Drader also promised that the game will be a buy-once and you get everything sort of deal; none of that hidden costs or blocked off features locked behind DLC or microtransactions. Drader mentions in the press release…
“This is the most well-rounded experience we’ve put together yet with a lot of content and a good variety of modes that cover single player and online gameplay. We’ve kept it simple – one purchase gets you the whole package and there are no in-game purchases.”
Well that sounds promising.
We’ll see if they can deliver when April rolls around and Super Mega Baseball 3 drops for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
