Voice Actor And Dragon Ball Narrator Brice Armstrong Passes Away At Age 84

Sadly, great things will come to an end, but it doesn’t mean that they’ll be forever lost. As it stands now, famous Dragon Ball voice actor and narrator, Brice Armstrong, has passed away and has left many fans and anime goers stunned. According to reports, Mr. Armstrong has passed away at the age of 84 on January 10th, 2020, due to natural causes.

Possessing vocals like none-other insofar that James Earl Jones — the one behind Darth Vader’s iconic voice —once said, “I wish I had your vocal control.” Sadly, though, that voice will only remain through memories, clips, videos, and, of course, the many contributions that Armstrong has passionately put out.

According to dailymail.co.uk, Armstrong was also known for celebrity impressions like Jimmy Stewart, John Wayne, Alfred Hitchcock, Cary Grant, Ed Wynn, Bela Lugosi, and Johnny Cash.

The website also touches on one of the biggest things that anime and cartoon goers fell in love with and that is Armstrong narrating the original Dragon Ball animated TV series.

In addition to the above, he also voiced several characters in said series and can be found in other works such as Fullmetal Alchemist, Baki the Grappler, Blue Gender, Barney and Friends, Detective Conan, and Dragon Ball GT.

Before retiring, Armstrong also provided narration for several Dragon Ball video games, which is a perfect recipe for fans of the series that wish to assume their favorite character(s) while experiencing familiar events hands-on.

Moreover, losing someone is no fun, and I can attest to that, especially when that someone has done something special in your life like Takashi Iwade-san — a dev behind Panzer Dragoon, some of the Yakuza games, and Jet Grind Radio.

The best way to appreciate a special person’s work is to pay respect, much like many anime fans revering the man known as Brice Armstrong. And although he is gone, Armstrong is survived by his six children.
