Amnesia And SOMA Developer Teases New Project In The Works

The first-person horror games that came out more than years ago that helped shape the genre are best known as SOMA, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. And it looks like Frictional Games, the developers behind those games, is looking to add on to its portfolio according to a new URL tease.

Whether you are a fan of Frictional Games or not, website GameRant has found a seemingly interesting clue that the dev team uses to announce upcoming games. And seeing that it has been close to five years after the release of SOMA, gamers might see a new IP, sequel, or prequel soon.

A couple of days ago, GameRant notes that Frictional Games pulled a sneaky move during the holidays by doing something that the layman would not catch. And that sneaky move consists of the team changing the URL on the site used to announce SOMA and the like.

The website’s URL now shows up as “NextFrictionalGame.com.” In case you are out of the loop, this move can be dated back to 2012, before SOMA and with Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs.

And seeing that two games that were teased are out in the wild via this URL hint, I’m sure gamers can expect something new now that the website is alive once more.

If you don’t feel like traveling over to the website in question, the tease consists of a black background with a pulsating light. Obviously, this is referencing something, but it’s unclear what it is at this point and time.

While we wait for more clues to pop up, you can head on over to nextfrictionalgame.com to figure out what Frictional Games is cooking up for 2020.

Lastly, what do you think this new game is? Do you think it’s another horror game (like its predecessors) or do you think it’s something else?
