Princess Maker: Faery Tales Come True HD Remake Heading To Steam, Nintendo Switch

CFK announced that a remake of Gainax’s Princess Maker 3 is wrapping up development, and the HD redo of the classic RPG will land on the Nintendo Switch and on Steam for PC on December 23rd for $29.99.

A pre-purchase sales campaign will get underway starting December 12th, where gamers will be able to buy it early for Switch on the Nintendo eShop for both Japan and America. The game will actually launch first on Switch starting December 19th in America, and then it will later release in Europe for the Switch and on Steam globally on December 23rd.

As noted in the press release, the game has been rebuilt from the ground up for a full HD experience, as well as handheld support for the Switch. The soundtrack has also been updated and the UI was overhauled to scale up for the new resolutions.

You can check out the trailer below to get an idea of what you’re getting into with the RPG.

The general gist of the game is that for eight years you’ll get to train up your daughter before her 18th birthday. After that she’ll venture out into the world on her own, having learned everything you taught her, ranging from making her work part-time jobs to earn some dosh, to taking classes to increase her world knowledge, to taking part in special events.

Every significant occasion of your daughter’s life will help shape her future and her status as a princess, with multiple endings being made available for players to unlock based on the choices they made throughout the game.

If you didn’t play the game when it originally released back in 1997 for home consoles and PC, you’ll be able to play the HD remake later this month. A port of the mobile version was also released back in 2017 on Steam, but most users hate that version of the game. So if you were originally interested, definitely check out the HD remake on Switch or PC come December 19th or December 23rd.
