French publisher Bigben Interactive and French developer Eko Software, jointly announced that Rugby 20 will have one final beta test on the Xbox One before it officially launches on January 23rd, 2020 on the Xbox One and on Steam for PC, and on January 28th for the PS4.
In the press release they revealed that only those who pre-ordered the game would gain access to the closed beta test. Not only that, but the closed beta test was only available for Xbox One owners. So if you’ve already pre-ordered the game or planned to pre-order it, only Xbox One owners will receive the benefit of being able to play the game early.
In any case, the last closed beta will take place between December 19th, 2019 and January 3rd, 2020.
I don’t support or condone pre-ordering, but for those of you did or plan to, you can learn more about it by visiting the Rugby 20 Facebook page.
Interestingly enough the Facebook page says that the closed beta will be available for both Xbox One and PS4 owners who pre-ordered. So you may need to confirm with them before you dive into the whole pre-ordering thing assuming that the closed beta will be available for both systems.
In addition to that, they also revealed that the full version of the game will include tons of licensed content, including 69 official international teams, four different leagues, and more than 2,000 players based on real-life Rugby competitors.
We’ve haven’t seen much from the game so I can’t really speak to the quality of the gameplay, and videos have been sparsely made available or are unlisted on Bigben’s official YouTube channel.
Nevertheless, if you were tired of all the annoying American sports based on overdone and worn-out licenses like the NBA and the NFL, you can look to check out Rugby 20 when launches at the end of January in 2020.
