XQEMU Can Now Emulate Original Xbox Games On PC

The OG Xbox has been getting quite a bit of attention recently, not to say that that is a bad thing given that it was the first of the family of Xbox Console to kick-off Microsoft’s ongoing series of home consoles. Well, if you happen to be a PC gamer and in the past enjoyed playing OG Xbox games you will soon be able to play them again via XQEMU, which emulates Xbox games on PC.

More and more emulators pop up as time flies. Speaking of emulators surfacing… if you happen to fancy the older or original Xbox and its games and you are on PC, then you are in luck given that XQEMU is shaping up for the better.

“XQEMU is a open source, cross-platform emulator for the original Xbox (and Sega Chihiro). It is currently in very early stages of development. XQEMU is built on-top of QEMU.”

Furthermore, XQEMU is an open source, cross-platform program/emulator for the OG Xbox that has been in development for a long time. As it stands now, the emulator is in a very early stage of its life and has a lot of problems that seems like nothing too big for the team behind the new XQEMU open-source emulator to handle.

It’s worth noting that the current state of XQEMU runs games slow and with no audio, which is a problem. On the flip-side, the emulator is in a very early state so its problems are more than expected. However, I got to say that the early state of the emulator is pretty impressive given that it needs a bit more love in certain areas and then it’s pretty much on track to becoming even better.

Anyway, you can be the judge for yourself by watching a video by John GodGames who shows the emulator running an older Fallout title, as seen below.
