The Nintendo Switch seems to be doing pretty well given its past sales. However according to a new report it looks like Nintendo has managed to push numbers over the 4 million mark in Japan.
If you recall correctly, the Big N unveiled the nifty Switch back in October of 2016, which was followed by a worldwide release on March 3rd, 2017. A year later it seems that the switch is doing rather well given the latest reports on units moved so far.
According to publication site gamesindustry.com we learn that the Nintendo Switch has sold four million units in Japan, according to Famitsu. The numbers displayed for public viewing can be looked over by hitting up famitsu.com/biz.
Furthermore, we learn that the Switch was able to meet the aforesaid numbers by a push of sales in Japan last week. The numbers recorded by Famitsu’s sales tracker recorded up to 52,000 Switch units sold, which was enough to pass the four million mark.
The site makes mention that the last official figures released by Nintendo confirmed 14.86 million units as of January 31st, 2018. That figure is already higher than the Wii U’s entire lifetime total.
The listed numbers featured above could not be achieved without a line up of exclusive titles, though. The games listed below pulled in the following numbers, which can only be found on the Switch:
- Super Mario Odyssey – 9.07 million units
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 7.33 million units
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 6.70 million units
- Splatoon 2 – 4.91 million units
- 1-2-Switch – 1.88 million units
- Arms – 1.61 million units
- Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – 1.06 million units

Finally, it is said that Nintendo has a target of 39 million sales set to be recorded by the start of April 2019.
