Warlords Awakening Hack-and-Slash MMO Enters Early Access In July

Playwith Games announced that their upcoming MMORPG, Warlords Awakening, will be released this July during the summer on Steam. The Korean MMO is another isometric, hack-and-slash style game where you create a character from five different classes, and attempt to raid dungeons and defeat bosses.

The game features a massive world themed around the fantasy land of Epheia, where you need to acquire weapons, upgrade your gear, take on bosses, and team up with your buddies.

The theme of the game is based around repairing the fabric of reality, which has become fractured by demon invaders. You’ll be able to create a character from a Blood Knight, a Mage, a Psychic, a Hunter or an Assassin.

You can see what the gameplay looks like with the trailer below.

To help give the game some semblance of uniqueness, each of the character classes allow you to alter the fighting stances, choosing from three different stances per class, allowing for a total of 15 different battle stances.

You can further customize your character’s battle abilities with the skill tree for each class, with three different branches, so you have even more versatility in how you customize the combat stylings to fit your play-style.

The game also sports mounts and pet breeding with special benefits.

I have to say that the game doesn’t look like much, and most commenters on the YouTube page had mistaken it for an Android game. It’s hard to see what exactly separates the game from all the other standard-fare isometric, hack-and-slash style MMO games out there. Then again maybe this is one of those situations where the game is just generic enough to lure in people looking for a quick MMO fix this summer.

Either way, you’ll be able to hop into the game world starting this July. For more info you can visit the Steam store page.
