SNK 40th Anniversary Collection Coming To Nintendo Switch November 13th

SNK Corporation and NIS America announced that the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection consisting of more than a dozen games will release exclusively on the Nintendo Switch starting November 13th, 2018 in North America and on November 16th, 2018 in Europe.

So far they’ve announced 13 games, ranging from Alpha Mission to Vanguard. You can check out the list below of currently announced games:

  2. Athena (Console/Arcade)
  3. Crystalis (Console)
  4. Ikari Warriors (Console/Arcade)
  5. Ikari Warriors II: Victory Road (Console/Arcade)
  6. Ikari Warriors III: The Rescue (Console/Arcade)
  7. Guerrilla War (Console/Arcade)
  8. P.O.W. (Console/Arcde)
  9. Prehistoric Isle (Arcade)
  10. Psycho Soldier (Arcde)
  11. Street Smart (Arcade)
  12. TNK III (Console/Arcade)
  13. Vanguard (Arcade)

The collection will allow gamers to play either to play the console or arcade versions of SNK’s classic games before the Neo Geo was released.

There’s a trailer you can check out below featuring some of the games in action that will be playable on the Nintendo Switch this fall.

You get the original games as they appeared both at arcade shops with the vertical screen, as well as the console versions in the full screen format. The trailer also reveals that there is bonus content and special features tucked away inside the package but they don’t say what those features are.

Digital Eclipse is handling the port job, and it will include emulator-type functionality such as save states and the ability remind games. The games will also be compatible with the TV mode with 1080p output and compatibility for the portable mode as well. Games will also support 1 – 2 players and come with a Museum Mode where you can learn more about the design, artwork and promotional assets for the game that came out at the time.

No price point was announced so far, but the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection will only be available digitally through the Nintendo eShop this November.
