Jade Raymond, Senior VP of EA Motive Leaves Electronic Arts

First, reports from accurate Battlefield leaker AlmightyDuq surfaced that some DICE employees did not like Battlefield 1 level designer, Matt Wagner, and spoke ill of him, then reports of Patrick Söderlund departing from EA DICE surfaced, which was followed by 40 plus employees leaving EA and DICE to join up with Ubisoft and other companies; and now Senior VP of EA Motive, Jade Raymond, has left EA.

As the EA and DICE development crew deflates and those that remain dedicate their time to filling up every single one of their games with microtransactions to no end, publication site gamesindustry.biz reports that Samantha Ryan will take over Jade Raymond’s former position as studio lead.

Ryan currently oversees EA’s Mobile, Maxis, and BioWare studios in North America, and will take on Raymond’s additional role at Motive and will still report to the head of global publishing Laure Miele.

According to a statement made by EA head of communications, John Reseburg, he noted the following information regarding Raymond departure:

“Jade Raymond has decided to leave Electronic Arts. In her time with us, Jade helped to build great teams, and our projects underway at Motive and other studios continue unchanged. We’re appreciative of all of her efforts, and we wish Jade all the best as she moves on to her next adventure.”

It’s worth noting that the companies, EA and DICE, will bleed out more employees moving forward according to Swedish websites digital.di.se and va.se/nyheter.

Although some people claim that said employees are leaving because of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 development debacle, others also point to the 40 plus employees leaving DICE for “better” jobs at Ubisoft and Epic Games.

I’m pretty sure we’ll be hearing from anonymous employees from both EA and DICE spilling the beans on internal work and how things were going with past games (like Star Wars: Battlefront 2) and other business choices made by higher executes that will likely raise an eyebrow.
