You’ll likely know Ken Levine for his work on Thief: The Dark Project, System Shock 2, BioShock, and SWAT 4. As of today, two reports have surfaced claiming that Levine is now working on an “ambitious immersive sim” title.
Website dualshockers.com published a piece today that it has been over six years since BioShock creator Ken Levine and his team released a video game out in the wild.
The website in question makes mention that after the rebranding from Irrational Games to Ghost Story Games (while downsizing to work on more narrative-focused titles), Levine is still the company’s president and looking to make something in the gaming sphere.
In addition to this new game by Levine and crew comes a piece by website twinfinite.net. The writer found that publisher Take-Two and developer Ghost Story Games are looking for a Cinematic Narrative Scripter to help work on an ambitious immersive sim:
“A job posting over on publisher Take-Two Interactive’s Careers page calls for a Cinematic Narrative Scripter with Unreal Engine 4 experience. The listing describes the project as an “opportunity to work on a creatively ambitious project in the immersive sim genre.””
Sadly, nothing else has surfaced on this “new game,” which means that it will take a long while before we hear anything substantial on the forthcoming project.
If the past holds any indications, Levine has done work on games that called for him to do different stuff like story writing, creative direction, voices, lead design work, and writing up dialogue on various games. Here’s some of his portfolio of work:
