EA And Maxis Are Working On A New Unannounced Game

It looks like Electronic Arts and Maxis are working on a new IP that will be one of the latter’s biggest games. Very little info is out there on this new title in the works, but I can assure you that it will feature some form of microtransactions or live-service mechanics.

New job listings have been spotted by multiple websites, and many of those sites report that the listings reveal information on Maxis working with EA to ship a new unannounced IP.

Catching wind from gamingbolt.com, it is said that this new project is “big,” but I wouldn’t hold my breath on it being anything spectacular. Anywho, the site sees the VFX Artist bio detailing the following:

“We are gearing up for our next big production and we need some passionate teammates to collaborate with to bring our new project to life.”

Hints of this new IP can be found across multiple jobs spanning from the VFX Artist, Art Director, Senior Character Artist, and the Senior Server Software Engineer.

Given that Maxis is looking for senior devs to help out means that we won’t see this game in a complete state anytime soon. In other words, expect to see a teaser trailer at some event either this year or next year.

In the meantime, I’m sure there might be other companies out there that have done something similar in the past, but there’s no denying that EA and Maxis milked The Sims with all those paid expansions. Seeing how the FIFA and Sims games are making EA mad money, there’s no doubt that this new IP will be a live-service title loaded with microtransactions.

Lastly, if you want to play detective, assuming EA and Maxis names haven’t turned you off, you can head on over to the above portals to find out more.
