Death Stranding PC Port Delayed Due To Coronavirus, Will Launch In July

Death Stranding will no longer release for PC on June 2nd, 2020, as originally announced. Instead, the game will come out a month later on July 14th, 2020, due to the current pandemic going on. This information was announced by the game’s PC publisher — 505 Games.

Death Stranding is facing some troubles in that one of the many devs at Kojima Productions has been diagnosed with the coronavirus.

Because of this event, Kojima Productions has temporarily shut down the main office to prevent further problems, as noted on kojimaproductions.jp.

Of course, this situation has led the developers at Kojima Productions to work from home, which has further complicated work on the PC port of Death Stranding. This information is further elaborated on by the publisher 505 Games via a tweet:

No word on if this measure to prevent further infections will impact future/new projects, but according to the above information, the devs at Kojima Productions will have to operate from home, which seems to be causing problems on Death Stranding‘s PC development.

In the meantime, folks looking to get their hands on the PS4 version can do so right now, not that I’d advise you to do so. However, the PC edition of the pretentious game will release much later than originally announced.

And on the topic of release dates, 505 Games and Kojima Productions will release Death Stranding for PC (using Denuvo) on July 14th, 2020, across Steam and the Epic Games Store. If you want to learn more information on Kojima Productions, you can head on over to kojimaproductions.jp.
