Ghost Of Tsushima Beats Horizon: Zero Dawn’s PS4 Launch Record

In recent news, Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima has beaten Horizon: Zero Dawn’s PS4 launch record. Right now, Ghost of Tsushima is available to pick up across the PS4 family of consoles.

Whether or not you are a fan of Ghost of Tsushima, know that said game isn’t lacking when it comes to moving units. Although an angry Twitter mob is currently saying all sorts of trivial stuff about Ghost of Tsushima, it seems to be performing quite well on the market.

As per publication site videogameschronicle.com, the game set during the 13th-century era of Japan has broken a record when it comes to PS4 first-party launch titles.

The website makes mentions that the 2020 open-world exclusive beat the record previously held by Horizon: Zero Dawn in 2017, which took two weeks to sell 2.6 million units.

It should be noted that Ghost of Tsushima did not beat out The Last of Us: Part 2’s 4 million copies in three days, or God of War (2018) and Marvel’s Spider-Man’s 3 million-plus copies in three days.

The official PlayStation Twitter account posted the following message to celebrate Ghost of Tsushima’s latest achievement of 2.4 million units sold globally in its first three days on the market:

Also, the above should come in as no surprise given that the official PlayStation Twitter account had to send out a message to those in the land of the rising sun since the demand for the game exceeded expectations:

Here’s a translation of the above tweet:

“Ghost of Tsushima has exceeded our expectations and is out of stock at some stores. Currently, we are moving as fast as possible to restock additional physical units. Alternatively, the digital version is also available on the PS Store. We ask for you to be considerate during these times.”

Lastly, Ghost of Tsushima is currently available to pick up ever since July 17th across PS4, PS4 Slim, and PS4 Pro. Also, expect PS5 support to be announced sometime in the foreseeable future.
