While there are a lot of rumors circulating around Red Dead Redemption 2, there are some solid things out in the wild letting Wild West and Red Dead fans taste some of the things that will be in the next installment of the Western game series.
Rockstar Games and Rockstar San Diego are currently working to get Red Dead Redemption 2 out on store shelves by this year’s fall for Xbox One and PS4. And while rumors like alien DLC and another undead treatment are talked about among fans, some concrete news has surfaced as of recent.
If you don’t know all that much about Read Dead Redemption 2 or the creators behind it, the official description from the devs sits below.
“Developed by the creators of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.”
Recently, Ethan Korver who has been in many games, voice wise, including titles like Mafia 3, Call of Booty: Infinite Warfare, and Just Cause 3 — just to name a few — has been asked on Twitter by a certain user named Red Dead Network if a recent rumor is true or not.
In addition to the above, Korver responded that, yes, the rumor is true that he will be a voice in the game. The rumor came to prominence recently due to an IMDB listing that Korver would be voicing a character that’s a cowboy.

So, indeed, he will be an uncredited cowboy in the upcoming Red Dead game. I guess you could say he’s The Man with No Name…
Moreover, looking to rockstargames.com we learn from the job listing side that the devs are looking for people to help with Artificial Intelligence, Character Mechanics, and Gameplay Mechanics.
Here’s what the AI listing reads:
“Artificial Intelligence Bring our worlds to life by creating believable behaviors and routines for their inhabitants. Navigate across varying terrain types, avoiding obstacles efficiently. Work on strategies to produce fun and challenging combat encounters.”
Next up is the Character Mechanics listing:
“Character Mechanics Create blend trees that combine animations, which are driven from both player and AI input. In conjunction with animators, finely tune and polish systems to produce the best combination of realism and responsiveness.”
And last but not least, we have Gameplay Mechanics:
“Gameplay Mechanics Weapon and damage systems. Create the illusion of densely populated worlds.”
There’s a slew of job openings over on the site that ranges from game coding to animations and so on. But instead of boring you with job names and stuff, let’s look over to locations that will be present in the game. According to a video by YouTuber LegacyKillaHD, he pulls up this map that is confirmed by the devs of RDR2 to be legit.
According to the YouTuber and the map, it is said that players will be traversing the Southern states of the U.S., namely Louisiana and Arkansas. I should note that the listed locations will more than likely be joined by other states or places, but no legit information regarding more places have surfaced as of this moment.
Speaking of LegacyKillaHD, if you want to bring out the rumor side of yourself and seek some “speculative” information I think that he’s got you covered in the video below.
Read Dead Redemption 2 is set to release for PS4 and Xbox One sometime during the Fall of 2017.
