Phil Spencer Notes That Xbox Scorpio Will Have A “Diverse Lineup” Of Games

You’ve heard the words, I’ve heard heard the words, we’ve all heard these words: “I’m not going to buy the Xbox Scorpio, because it has no exclusives”. Well, it seems that those words have been typed across the Interwebs so much that Phil Spencer had something to say about the ongoing and popular opinion.

With E3 2017 coming up, a lot of people have been saying that the event should be used to show off the Xbox Scorpio’s exclusives and games so that it will drive units. In addition, there’s been talk around various forum boards that the upcoming Xbox console will be shown off with the same specs revealed not too long ago, but reiterated yet again at the event. People are also saying that the few games shown at the event will just be CGI trailers with no real gameplay footage.

Now the above is all just what a lot of people are saying and does not come in as fact. And because the aforesaid has been repeated so, Phil Spencer recently had this to say…

“Ultimately, we know you care most about great games, whether they be exclusive, multiplatform, independent or AAA. We are proud of the diverse lineup of games coming this year that will only be playable on Xbox One and will play better on Project Scorpio. We designed Project Scorpio to be the best console to play the blockbuster multiplatform games from our publishing partners, made it easy for recently released titles to upgrade to true 4K and for beloved, backward compatible titles to play better than ever before.”

The above quote by Spencer comes in from publication site GameRant, who noted that the letter was released in tandem with invites going out to press for the Microsoft’s Xbox E3 event this year (invite letter pictured below).

Microsoft has yet to reveal or discuss the console’s price, release date and game/title line-up. Nevertheless, said things are rumored to be unveiled when E3 2017 rolls around.

To be honest I’m not all that excited for the upcoming E3 event, however that could change soon depending on what’s revealed. With that said, are you excited for E3 2017 and the reveal of the Xbox Scorpio?
