Pokémon: Home Reaches 1.3 Million Downloads In Its First Week, Says Report

Pokémon: Home went live on February 12th, 2020, allowing folks on Switch, iOS, and Android devices to download the app. Well, many people have done so according to a new report in that the new application has reached 1.3 million downloads in its first week.

That’s right, a new report has surfaced, and it states that Pokémon: Home is gaining notable traction. The info that comes from tracking website sensortower.com sees the U.S. and Japan as significant contributors to Pokémon: Home’s first-week downloads.

Within a seven window frame after the app’s February 12th launch, the tracking site claims that 444,000 of its downloads, or about 34% of total installs, comes from users in the United States.

The numbers for Japan sits at 299,000, or 23% of all downloads, while the UK holds 74,000 of the total figure, which translates to 5.7%.

You can get a better look at the numbers by checking out the following image graph that shows Pokémon: Home’s first-week downloads around the world — which includes the U.S., Japan, UK, Germany, and France.

I should note what likely contributed to the number of downloads is the “free plan.”

If you are unaware, Pokémon: Home has two plans known as the “free plan” and the “premium plan.” The premium plan will run folks $2.99, $4.99, and $15.99 for a 30-day, 90-day, or one-year-long subscription.

Whether folks wanted a paid subscription or not, in most cases like this one, fans of a popular franchise, series, or brand will always flock to a free edition of said product. And in this case, seeing that the app has a “no-charge” option, I think you can see where Pokémon: Home was able to reach 1.3 million downloads in one week.

But what I would like to know is: the number of active users, and how many of the 1.3 million stuck around after downloading the app?

While we wait to find out, Pokémon: Home is out now for Switch, iOS, and Android devices.
