Respawn Entertainment Is Reportedly Working On A New Third-Person Star Wars Game

Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment are reportedly working on a new third-person action-adventure game set in the realm of Star Wars. According to the report that spotted the job listings regarding Respawn’s Star Wars team making a new game, it’s believed to be related to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Website gamesradar.com reports that Respawn is now looking for developers — specifically a senior character artist, a level designer, and a senior software engineer— to help the Star Wars team make a “third-person video game.”

Although the project that the team is working on could be an expansion, DLC, or maybe a sequel as the publication site suggests, what is for certain is that a new Star Wars project is in the works.

What has the website thinking it’s a sequel relates to a multitude of things, with one of the reasons being the three job listings revealing Respawn is creating a “third-person action/adventure game” that’s set in the Star Wars universe.

What also has GamesRadar thinking a sequel is around the corner is a comment that Respawn’s brand strategy director, Charlie Houser, made to the publication site back in mid-November regarding the team wanting to continue Cal Kestis’ story.

I’m not a fan of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and its myriad of issues, but it looks like many people hungry for a sub-par Star Wars experience in current year ran with it insofar that EA and Respawn are happy with the game’s numbers.

With that said, we’ll find out sometime in the near future if EA and Respawn are working on a sequel or an expansion for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, or if a new IP is in the works for next-gen consoles like the PS5 and “Xbox.”

Lastly, do you want to see a new Star Wars game by Respawn in current year, or could you do without it?
