Honest Review| DariusBurst: Another Chronicle

They just released DariusBurst: Another Chronicle EX+, and even though it’s an older game, the new additions to the game’s ships, levels, and robust co-op mode will keep players glued to their screens. Play DBACEX+ on your console, then take to the skies and dispatch the Belsar forces, etching your name in gold letters across the leaderboards.

Taito reunited the original band to create a new updated version of DariusBurst for the 10th anniversary, which will please both series fans and newcomers. In 2009, the DariusBurst series was released on Sony’s most popular portable system, the PSP.

The following year’s arcade release, in 2010, improved on this formula even further with new features and better graphics. Additionally, “Another Chronicle EX’s” new release in 2021 will include elements from the arcade version as well as additional content like a replay mode, extra missions, and local co-op for up to four players.

Now that we have gotten into the meat of the game, I am sure you are all curious about how it was put together. There are nine different powerful ships to choose from in DariusBurst: Another Chronicle EX+ on your quest to rid the galaxy of the Belsarian threat. A variety of Silver Hawk Bursts are on the market: the Legendary Silver Hawk Burst, Next Generation Silver Hawk Burst, Origin Silver Hawk Burst, GAIDEN Silver Hawk Burst, the 2nd Generation the Murakumo Silver Hawk Burst.

The Murakumo is now available to use on different levels of the game for the first time in DariusBurst, rather than just the restricted ones as in previous versions. In addition to being visually appealing, each ship comes equipped with various weapons and abilities to accommodate your preferred play style. Once you have selected your boat, the game will ask you to choose between four different game modes. Easy, Normal, and Hard are the options in the Original Mode to reach the final zone. Expert, Extreme, and Exceed are the three difficulty levels available in the Original EX Mode.

You can also play with your friends in the Chronicle Mode, which features many missions and objectives. It does not matter which mode you play in; you will need to be alert and on your toes at all times because this game is challenging no matter how you approach it. Instead of the usual sci-fi theme, DariusBurst: Another Chronicle EX+ uses an oceanic design for the game levels and enemies, making it stand out from the crowd. The battleships of the enemy waves and the final bosses were inspired by a sci-fi and deep-sea creature mashup.

The new visuals of DariusBurst are stunning and look great on modern consoles and televisions like the Xbox One S. With the PS5 connected to my 65-inch 4K Visio TV and my review copy on a Samsung 2TB SSD, I was blown away by how vibrant the colors looked and smooth it played even when the screen was entirely covered by enemies, and their weapons were firing at me. Overall, I was satisfied with Taito’s release of DariusBurst for the most part. If I had to criticize anything, the play sessions are far too short in Original and Original EX+ Mode.

There are only six areas to play in on each difficulty setting, but you only get to experience three of them before you meet the game’s final boss. The areas you can access are determined by how you complete a level’s objectives. There are only two options: the high and low paths, with the low path being slightly more complicated. Even so, it’s not fatal because if you get bored with one of those modes, you can always switch to the other two for a new adventure. It was great to have the new multiplayer options and be able to play with others.

Deathloop: The Honest Review

As a result of the sheer number of ships available, I found myself repeatedly returning to see how each new ship’s weapons systems interacted with my own personal preferences. DariusBurst’s updates have kept this game feeling fresh and new even though it’s over ten years old. The action on screen is frantic and fast-paced, and it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
