We still haven’t seen much of it in action, but Telltale’s Batman: The Telltale Series will be arriving on digital store shelves starting sometime this summer.
The release window was made known via twitter, where Attack of the Fanboy reported that Job J. Stauffer, the head of creative communications for Telltale Games, let the world know that both Batman and the third season of The Walking Dead would be coming sooner rather than later.

Beyond revealing that the third season of The Walking Dead would be arriving this fall and that Batman: The Telltale Series would also be arriving this summer, the tweet reveals little else.
Of course, a single tweet was just enough to make everyone go into a frenzy, even more-so with the tag of E3 2016 briefly appearing in there, giving gamers the heads-up that we could be seeing the first bits of gameplay footage of the upcoming Batman title starting next week during the big gaming event taking place in Los Angeles, California.
Previously, we learned a little bit about Telltale’s Batman game at SXSW in Austin, Texas earlier in the year, and prior to that there were hints about the game in late 2015. So far we still don’t know exactly how the game will look or play, but we do know that players will be able to switch seamlessly between Bruce Wayne and Batman. The actions of either alter-ego will have an affect on Gotham, for better or for worse.
I’m curious just how dark DC will allow Telltale to go and whether or not it’s going to be as maturely themed as previous Telltale titles like The Wolf Among Us or The Walking Dead? I imagine they’ll find a small balance between Game of Thrones and Tales From The Borderlands, having Batman go close to being grim-dark but not quite stepping over the line.
We’ll most certainly find out just how grim-dark Batman: The Telltale Series will be when it makes an appearance at this year’s E3. For more info feel free to stay tuned in to the game’s official website.
