E3 2016: Platinum Games Shows New NieR: Automata Gameplay Video

Platinum Games and Square Enix latest project, following under the name of NieR: Automata, has a new E3 video trailer that shows gameplay and a sneak peek at some of the bosses and events in the game. Set to come out early 2017, NieR: Automata is currently exclusive to the PS4.

I’m really liking the realm of NieR: Automata, the game seems very interesting and strange at the same time, and it’s something that I want to see more of. Accompanying the new E3 trailer that Platinum Games and Square Enix released comes some nice screenshots of the game, too. I do have to say this looks like a hack and slash that I can’t wait to see more of.

For those that don’t know about this game, it follows the androids 2B, 9S and A2. To get a better understanding on NieR, the official description dives a little deeper into the game’s premise:

“NieR: Automata tells the story of androids 2B, 9S and A2 and their battle to reclaim the mechanoid-driven dystopia overrun by powerful weapons known as “machine lifeforms.”

“2B is the main playable character and is an all-purpose battle android deployed as a member of the automated infantry squad, YoRHa. She is equipped with a sword for close quarters combat and the “Pod” support system for ranged battle. Her eyes are obscured beneath her standard-issue military visor, which she rarely removes. 2B is cool, calm, and collected.”

Still offering it’s interesting flare as it did before, the new trailer shows the dark and mysterious side of NieR: Automata, as well as exploration, battles scenes and other segments. Thanks to PlayStation‘s official YouTube channel you can watch the minute and a half long video.

NieR: Automata will be available sometime during the early part 2017, and is currently noted to be exclusive for the PS4. Before signing out, you can check out the newly posted screenshots showing the game.
