You will finally be able to play or see in-game footage of The Farm 51’s World War 3 at this year’s Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. The event is set to kick-off on August 21st and will end on August 25th, which means World War 3 will make an appearance on one of those days.
World War 3′s official website has been updated by The Farm 51, and Kamil Bilczyński, creative director of World War 3, came forth to announce the game will appear at this year’s August convention.
Here’s what the letter had to say, which you can read right here:
“GAMESCOM – We are pleased to announce that from 21st to 25th of August we will be present on this year’s Gamescom. Therefore we invite all World War 3 fans to Cologne! We have prepared a ton of attractions for you but, most importantly, each and every one of you will be able to meet us and personally play World War 3! Our stall will be located in the Enternainment Zone and there you will be able to fight other players on the streets of Warsaw, Berlin and Moscow. For our business partners, influencers and the media we have prepared a stall in the Business Zone where, far from the noise of the fair, we will host a series of meetings, interviews and presentations of World War 3.”
Accompanying the above letter comes five screenshots (of what I assume to be in-engine footage?) as depicted below.
Furthermore, The Farm 51 held an AMA for World War 3 back on June 15th on their Discord channel, and as expected a lot of people offered up questions and the devs replied with answers. One of the questions happened to be about World War 3’s beta, to which the devs answered with a release date set to go live before September.
This only leaves July and August in the picture, but the latter seems more likely given that gameplay will make an appearance that month at Gamescom 2018.
World War 3 will also go through an early access phase. This phase will be open to players for feedback and refinement on PC. Lastly, you can learn more about this game by heading on over to thefarm51.com or worldwar3.com.
