HTC recently announced it’s latest flagship smartphone in May 2018 and released the HTC U12 Plus in June 2018.
According to GSMarena, the HTC U12 Plus has much to offer, with a retail price of $799 (without tax) it stands at 6.” with Android 8.0 Oreo ( with future upgrade to Android 9.0). The front and back is made of glass, the front of Corning Gorilla Glass level 5, and a surrounding aluminum frame, with the flexible ability. The phone is being offered in three colors- Ceramic Black, Flame Red, and Translucent Blue which seems to be the popular of the three.
Some of the technical specifications are:

- IP68 dust/waterproof,
- Pressure sensitive buttons (the buttons aren’t actually buttons to press on),
- And a resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels, with dual speakers.
The phone boast of dual 8mp front camera, and a 12mp wide-angle HTC Ultra-Pixel main camera, Dual LED flash is available with face detection and a self timer. The main camera video offers 4K video recording at 60fps, and slow motion capture at 2160p @ 240fps, HDR with stereo sound recording. The front camera offers video recording as well, using full HD 1080p panorama
recording.
The platform of this phone has no headphone jack, or Home buttons, majority of the device operation takes place by hand squeeze motion to access apps and/or to control the phone. One nice amenity is the Double Tap motion, this will allow easy or quick access for shortcuts. It should be noted also that the squeeze motion has settings for the user to adjust the amount of squeeze one would like to use in operating the device. The Chipset is Qualcomm SDM845, with Snapdragon 845, and a CPU – Octa-Core.
The battery life has been stated as average for normal talk and usage, if one is a heavy talker or camera user expect an average of 4 to 5 hours of battery life. There is no wireless charging built-in, and outdoor viewing has been reviewed as average under heavy sunlight.
