The New Samsung Galaxy Watch Will Arrive On August 26

Samsung recently announced its latest smartwatch the Samsung Galaxy Watch at the Samsung Unpacked event held at the Barclays Centre in New York City on August 9th. The US and UK can now pre-order the smartwatch, and as mentioned in the title, the Galaxy Watch is scheduled to arrive on August 26 in the US.

Techradar stated that the Galaxy Watch has been scheduled to arrive much later in other counties. Samsung decided to make a name change and drop the “Gear” giving the wearable a more classic refineed name, without removing the amenities that the Gear Sports line of watches represented.

The Galaxy Watch has many of the same features as the Gear Sport, it even offers water resistance for swimming. According to Cnet, Spotify will return, and just as before, it will offer streaming or downloadable tracks, and the Galaxy Watch will also give users the option to utilize a standalone cellular feature.

The Galaxy Watch will stay solid in providing more health features; look for more exercise modes to make an appearance providing at least 39 different exercises. A new stress-managing app that has been designed to use the heart rate to determine stress level, and a monitor for sleep pattern, will be available as well.

The Galaxy Watch uses Samsung’s own ecosystem of software and apps, and operating system Tizen based wearable OS 4.0. The smartwatch will be made available in two sizes, the larger size dimensions of 46 x 49 x 13mm, in the color silver, and the smaller size with the dimensions of 41.9 x 45.7 x 12.7mm, in the colors midnight black and rose gold. The display is 1.3-inch, featuring circular super AMOLED (360×360), and Corning Gorilla DX+, with the strap being 22mm and interchangeable.

The battery size in the larger Galaxy Watch is 472mAh, and the smaller Galaxy Watch is 270mAh. Rumor has it the average running time for battery life will be 7 days, since the Galaxy Watch is still new and not out of the box and running, we shall see if that holds true. It offer wireless charging, and is compatible with Samsung and other Android brands – Android 5.0 or higher, 1.5GB RAM, iPhone 5 and above, and iOS 9.0 and above.

Now for the cost, according to Cnet , the larger Galaxy Watch is said to cost $350 with Bluetooth, and the smaller Galaxy Watch is said to cost $ 330 with Bluetooth, the provider will be through T-Mobile. It seems at a later date the option to purchase the Galaxy Watch LTE version will be made available, so stay tuned for further updates as the Galaxy Watch release date approaches.
