Valve To Release Artifact On November 28th, Mobile Version Coming 2019

There’s no doubt that Artifact stirred up controversy some time back, especially with its August 2017 teaser trailer. However, Valve still has high hopes for the trading card game — which is based on Dota 2’s world — and plans on shipping it to PC goers on November 28th, 2018, and for mobile users (iOS and Android) sometime in 2019.

According to Valve, the game will deliver “the deepest gameplay and highest fidelity experience ever in a fantasy card game.” Big words, but can they deliver on it? Time will tell.

As of now, the company has seeded information that the strategy card game will debut with more than 280 cards, and players will be able to buy and sell cards on the Steam Community Market.

As noted above, all of this will go down on November 28th, 2018, for PC owners and sometime in 2019 for iOS and Android folks.

I’m sure you’ve noticed something else regarding that picture, right? Well, if you haven’t, the above splash shows that users will need to drop $19.99 to own/play the game. If you were curious before about Artifact’s price point, now you know.

With all of that said, and for those that don’t know what Artifact has to offer, you can read over the official description and take a look at the older teaser trailer right here:

“A collaboration of legendary card game designer Richard Garfield and computer game and technology maker Valve (Dota 2, Steam), Artifact is designed to give Trading Card Game (TCG) enthusiasts the deepest gameplay and highest fidelity experience ever in a fantasy card game.”

Taking a peek over to the like/dislike ratio we can see that folks weren’t too pleased with Artifact‘s teaser trailer.

Artifact 4

The true question is, will we see a similar situation, say, like with PUBG where it fluctuates between “Negative” and “Mixed” reviews but pulls in loads of players? Could we see it sport positive reviews with a healthy player base, or will it have a minuscule player base due to the “outrage” surrounding it?

While we wait for November 28th to reveal the answer, you can learn more about this game by hitting up its Steam page.
