Apple debuted the Apple Watch Series 4 at its 2018 September Event held in the Steve Jobs Theater at the Apple Park headquarters in Cupertino, California. Apple has done quite of bit of re-engineering and re-designing on the latest Apple Watch Series 4.
To start, the Series 4 now has a 30% larger near bezeless screen, and the redesigned speakers are 50% louder, with the mic moved opposite of the speakers now. The Watch Series 4 is said to be more powerful, yet thinner than before. The new display technology called LTPO improves power efficiency assisting in longer battery performance, expect up to 6 hours of exercise time and a total of up to 18 hours of battery life.
The Digital Crown no longer has the red dot, instead a slim red ring encircles the Digital Crown. Additionally, haptic feedback now delivers a precise, click-like feel as you scroll.
Built into the top of the Series 4 users will find a titanium electrode to use the ECG app, the ECG app will generate an ECG, or an electrocardiogram, which can be shared with a medical faculty. The back of the Series 4 is made of black ceramic sapphire crystal, making it easy to read the electrical heart impulses in the wrist. The Watch Series 4 can check for irregular heart rhythms, or unusual high or low heart rates and can alert you to any irregularities.
Another new feature is the accelerometer and the gyroscope. Now the Apple Watch can detect when a fall has occurred, if you are unresponsive after 60 seconds, an emergency call will be automatically placed. The Breathe app has been redesigned as a watch face, just to assist in helping you to stop and relax. Three faces are available to bring about calmness, they are: Classic, Focus, and Calm.
A new and improved S4 processor chip performs twice as fast now, the fourth-gen CPU is up to 2x faster in opening apps quickly and performance is boosted across the system.
