Tokyo Game Show 2020 To Focus On PS5, Xbox Series X Games, According To Report

The Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (or CESA), which is the company that backs the Tokyo Game Show, recently sent out a notice explaining that the 2020 edition of the trade show will focus on next-gen consoles (like the PS5 and Xbox Series X) and future games.

By the time Tokyo Game Show 2020 rolls around, the PS5 and Xbox Series X should be gearing up to hit store shelves. With that said, we should know more about the two consoles and next-gen games, which the CESA backed trade event will offer more details on the aforesaid.

With that said, website gamingbolt.com has posted details on the games event, which the translated piece covering what to expect from TGS 2020 lies below:

“The theme of TGS 2020 is ‘The Future Touches Gaming First. Games are the most updated and accessible means to experience the emerging technologies that will unlock new possibilities for the future. With the theme of this year, the event expects to provide an opportunity for people to touch and play the latest games and immerse themselves in the feel of an exciting future that is just around the corner.”

Moreover, TGS 2020 will focus on “novel game consoles for the next generation,” as well as “the full-fledged launch of cloud gaming.” Sadly, no details have surfaced on the former, but the latter pretty much explains itself.

In addition to the above, TGS 2020 will also touch on “the start of 5G services for commercial use.” You’ve read right. The event will have a portion of the trade show covering the “use and benefits” of 5G.

As of this writing, no major company has revealed plans for the September due games event, and that should be expected since we are several months out before it goes live.

In the meantime, TGS 2020 is set to kick-off at the Makuhari Messe event hall in Chiba, Japan. This will take place later this year on September 25th and will end on October 2nd, 2020.
