Geoff Keighley Announces Summer Game Fest 2020 Will Last From May To August

Geoff Keighley is looking to stay relevant for four months straight. That’s right, the event to take E3 2020’s place, Summer Game Fest 2020, will run from May all the way to August. New and upcoming games will make an appearance at said digital event, according to Keighley.

More and more digital events are popping up every day to replace the now-canceled E3 2020 trade show. This means more game reveals (whether they be new or old titles) will surface throughout this year’s spring and summer.

It’s unclear what new games are going to pop up, but the man known as the Dorito pope will play host from May to August when the first phase of the Summer Game Fest 2020 drops.

Coinciding with the aforesaid is a video trailer showing off what gamers can expect from this four-month-long session thanks to The Game Awards‘ YouTube channel:

“This Summer, the video game community comes together for a season of breaking news, announcements and in-game events. Make sure to stay tuned to SUMMER GAME FEST channels for updates!”

Furthermore, during phase 1 of the four-month-long event, we know 2K, Activision, Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Blizzard, Bungie, CD Projekt Red, Digital Extremes, Electronic Arts, PlayStation/Sony, Private Division, Riot Games, Square Enix, Steam, WB, and the Xbox Team will make an appearance:

Phase two will likely rear its head sometime in June, while phase three will follow afterward in July. Phase four will more than likely pop up in August to conclude the “digital interactive” event.

And lastly, info on dates and time will likely surface later this week or next week, where folks can find out more about the digital event’s phases and playable games. In the meantime, you can hit up a new AMA on reddit.com to ask Keighley anything regarding the Summer Game Fest 2020 event.
