Sony To Host The Last Of Us: Part 2 State Of Play On May 27th, 2020

Despite all of the noise and controversy surrounding Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann — the company’s vice president and director over The Last of Us: Part 2 — will appear in a new State of Play episode to give folks a special gameplay preview of The Last of Us: Part 2 on May 27th. The PS4 exclusive will launch on June 19th, 2020.

Sony, Muso, and Naughty Dog are no strangers when it comes to stirring up controversy. As a matter of fact, the three have been making news for all the wrong reasons in that they are now using Twitter’s “spoiler feature” to deflect any negative word surrounding them.

In addition to the above, comments sections on YouTube videos posted by Sony and Naughty Dog are closed to prevent any spoilers or opposing views from popping up.

Nevertheless, Sony and Naughty Dog will likely commit the same act of closing the comment section on YouTube and Twitch when the forthcoming State of Play video airs showing off snippets of The Last of Us: Part 2 gameplay.

With that said, Sid Shuman — senior director and SIE content communications — noted on blog.us.playstation.com that the team at Sony is putting the finishing touches on a new episode of State of Play.

The episode in question will air on May 27th at 1:00 P.M. PT / 4:00 P.M. ET on Twitch and YouTube.

Furthermore, the current cut will clock in around 20 minutes and will end with an extended sequence showing off about eight-minutes of “never-before-seen gameplay.”

The deep dive that will premier in the next couple of days will not sport any PS5 news or info. Instead, it will focus solely on The Last of Us: Part 2 and info surrounding the title’s gameplay mechanics.

last but not least, the controversial game known as The Last of Us: Part 2 will release worldwide for PS4 on June 19th, 2020
